Are you graduating?

Is Spring coming and you don’t know what’s next?

What about if you already have your plan, but things just feel off for you.  You have the job, but you don’t feel like you fit.  Don’t get me wrong, you work with some great people, but is this really what God wants you to do with your life?

There are so many things in your life right now aren’t there?  I know.  You must be swamped.  Then, to try to take time to figure anything out right now feels overwhelming. You could feel completely paralyzed with the thoughts you have.

Well, I want to tell you some good news.  Today, before you are done reading this post, you will get one of my most used and most effective tools for victory in life.  Today, I want to share it with you free of charge.  It’s a gift God gave me, and it’s now a gift I give to you also.

You Have Heard It Said.

Let me ask you another question. How often have you heard from the world that you are supposed to chose what you want to be?  How often has the world told you that whatever you believe is true?  How often have you been told that choice is yours and that your life is yours?  I bet it’s too many to count.  Here is what is flawed in this thinking.

If you are ultimately in charge of your destiny, which most of the world believes, then you become the god of your life.  That’s right.  If you get to say what you believe, and how you express it, you become god.

That sounds like the perfect trick Satan wants of you.  He wants you to put yourself as god, so that Jesus doesn’t get worshipped.  That’s his top priority.

I often say that there are 2 kinds of people in this world, those who think God is god and those who think they are god.  You have to believe one or the other.  If you simply say that there is a god out there but you can’t know him, or that the universe is god, then you have actually taken the position of god in your life.  You are claiming something and making it “true” for you.  But if God is god, you don’t get a choice in the matter.  He simply is.  In fact, He said about Himself…”I Am.”

So if God is god, and I know He is,(we’re tight :), then He sets the agenda, not only for the world, but for you. He tells you who you are and how to express yourself, you don’t.

A New Thought

So knowing that God is god, and that He created you in His image, He gets to say what you are going to do with your life.  But here is the beautiful point.

He has already told you what His will for your life is.  That’s right.  You already have that amazing secret.

Let me explain.

Have you ever looked at a butterknife?  Is it a sword?  Is it a hammer? Is it a screwdriver?  No!  Perhaps you can use it as one for a bit, but if you keep doing it, it will wear down and be useless to do the job it was created for.

Just like that butterknife was created and strategically designed for a purpose, so were you.  Here is the awesome thing about it.  God is your creator.  So He made you with his purposes in you.  When you do things  He did not create you to do, you may be able to for a bit, but you will wear out and feel useless.

Let me share with you my butterknife principle.  It says, “The design reveals the will of the designer.”  That means that by looking at yourself the way Jesus sees you, He will actually reveal His will for your life.  You can actually know what He made you for when you see yourself the way He sees you.  This is epic.  It’s like you are unlocking your true identity when you see yourself the way Jesus sees you, your creator.

When you know how God made you, you know His will for your life.

Take Away

So here is what I want you to do.  Here is my prescription for figuring out what to do with your life.

Sit down with Jesus.  Ask Him what He sees in you.  Then start to live the way He made you.  This will help you make decisions about everything in life.  What job should I take,  Who should I marry and more.

All of these answers are wrapped up in your identity.  He will unlock it and with your approval, I hope that the school of identity and I can walk with you as you discover your true identity.
