Wow.  2018 is gone. Another new year.  Another new set of goals. Another hope that we can keep up with those new resolutions for another year.  Perhaps it’s just another “another”.

It’s hard to be motivated by that isn’t it?  I know it is for me.  There are so many voices around me saying that I should set up some goals, but the voices also say that there is no chance I can pull it off.  That stinks.

But what if you had some more power to pull it off.  What if you had a coach that walked with you daily to pursue those goals.  What if that coach wanted you to fulfill those goals so much that He put His own pursuits and schedule aside to help you.  He will not only set you up for success, but will be at every workout, every meal, every tired day, every long evening.  What if you had a coach like that?

Well, don’t expect me to pull that off for you. LOL. I’m no one’s savior, that’s for sure. And don’t get mad at me for a bit of a cliche, but I have the answer.

Yes, I’m going to point you to Jesus.  He’s the only one that can truly help me.

You know, this past year, 2018, was one of my hardest years.  You may have noticed that.  I lost my father in Aug, and one of my closest friends this past December.  I learned to grieve.  But I also had such a hard time getting anything to you with the School of Identity.  My efforts for the school were pushed back so hard.  There were so many things coming at me.  But for that, I thank you for your patience.  I trust it will be worth it.

Being such a hard year was obviously a challenge.  While I didn’t always know what to do, as I reflect, there was one thing that I did consistently that got me through.  Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without the person of Jesus, being my closet friend.  He never left my side.

If you don’t know Him personally, then my above statement probably sounds pretty strange.  I get it.  I used to try to pretty it up for those who don’t know Jesus.  What I found though was as I tried to make Jesus more relevant to others, I actually made Him less relevant.

You see, Jesus is always relevant, and our attempts to make Him more relevant only muddy the waters.  We need to stop making up things to say and just have an amazing one on one relationship with Him.  It will then spill out on those we are around.

So perhaps a great goal for us all, is to have a personal relationship with Jesus in 2019 that is real.  The best part is that He will be your coach.  He will be your best friend.  He will be all you need to keep it up because He wants that relationship more than any of us actually does.  It’s awesome.

So if you want to try something in 2019 that worked like crazy for me in 2018, let me lead you into it.

Get enough faith in your heart or mind and ask God to help you grow close to Jesus this year.  That’s it.  He will deliver.  It’s going to be epic.

The reason it’s on my radar for us all is that He wants you to see yourself the way He sees you.  When you start to see how He looks at you, you heart will melt, your mind will be blown, and your life will be changed forever.  I want that for you.  To know who you are, is to know who Jesus is.  As you know Him more and more, He reveals to you all you need to know about yourself.

So, for 2019, know Jesus, and He will help you know you.
